Living in Bali, you soon discover that almost every other day here is a ceremony, a sacred day, or a ritual.
After living here for a few years now... a day without an event almost feels 'too quiet'.
Wanting to learn more about a culture very different to that of the western world I grew up in, I like to ask the locals what the meaning is behind the traditions I see.
While I'll sometimes be given a beautiful explanation and insight into what the culture has evolved into and why that particular tradition is upheld with such passion...
...I'll surprisingly often be met with a blank face and something like "I do not know, this is just what we have always done".
As someone who likes to question everything, I find it strange to think that something is done just because it's what's always been done.
I'm not in any way suggesting the traditions should be stopped, but rather, remembered as to why they are done.
At the end of the day, is honouring the reason behind the practice not even more important than the practice itself?
---
And so it had me thinking...
Which parts of your business are you doing just because you've always done them?
Which parts of your business are you doing just because you've been told it's important?
---
As a mentor to now hundreds of coaches, healers, and leaders, one of the first things I do to build a business that creates true freedom...
...is strip back their businesses to the bare essentials, and implement proven systems that are streamlined and efficient.
Any practice that has no purpose, has absolutely no place in a business I've designed.
Each element within a business I design is critical, effective, and intentional.
So I ask, are you ready to release what does not serve you, and build traditions that deserve to be upheld?
Freedom is created with intention.
